| What are basic qualifications of an Affiliate program? |
Before joining in an affiliate program check these criteria:
Good looking web site:
If your affiliate program merchant doesn't have a decent web site, visitors going to that site through
your links don't get good impression of the product. They just leave the site.
Marketable Product:
Has their product has demand in the market? People need it really? How much competition is
in the market to promote it by yourself? Say you promote a HTML editor software. This
is just an example. There are dozens of free html editors with astonishing features. Will people
buy your product? So do little research on the product demand and select the affiliate
program that suits you.
Are they provide you real time statistics?
Once you joined in an affiliate program, how could you know which banner placement is
working or which ad canpaign giving you poor performance. So check out whether, they can
provide statistics of clickthrus, sale notifications etc,
What is commission percentage?
I'd say minimum of 30% of sale cost would be great. Some marketers offers 50% of sale. So
check how much commission you will get after the sale.
Cost range of the Product:
People are different. I personally prefer to choose affiliate products less than $100.00. These are
easy to sell. If you join in an affiliate program with the product cost of $500.00 (with 50% commission), and you made
a sale every month, you will get $250.00. If you join in an affiliate program with product cost
$50.00 (with 50% commission), and you made three sales every week, you will get $300.00 and
12 email addresses. (why these email addresses are important? Read here.)
Has they provide you marketing material?:
Are you getting promotional material like Banners, web site, articles, images etc etc,. On one hand it is better to
use these promotional material
and on another hand don't use these materials. Contrary statements. Huh? Read here about promotional material. You can
use the promotional material to promote your affiliate product.
